Tanjung Agas Oil & Gas and Logistic Industrial Park

The Tanjong Agas Oil & Gas and Logistic Industrial Park will be developed in Pekan, Pahang and is expected to be completed in 2012. Located about 10km from Pekan and 50km from Kuantan, Tanjong Agas coastal distance stretched to 7km along the beach.  Current infrastrucuture work for road, bridge, drainage system and street lights already been completed. The park is set to become the supply base and marine services hub in order to provide modern and complete facilities for the oil and gas industry with the total planned area 1,710.1 hectares.

Facilities and Infrastructure
The RM2 billion park will become the first modern one-stop centre for the maritime, oil and gas industry in Malaysia. Apart from the commercial and residential projects, the development of the park will include:

  • Major fabrication yards
  • Dredger yards
  • Dock yards
  • Commercial office buildings
  • LNG/LPG storage and re-gas plant petroleum storage and blending and refinery
  • Supply base, minor fabrication and oil and gas wharves for refurbishment repair and maintenance +2km shoreline
  • Integrated waste management plant and CoGen plant +500 metres shoreline
  • Petroleum terminals
  • Liquid bulk terminals
Besides that, the industrial park will also be equipped with high-speed broadband facilities to ensure speedy connectivity from every corner of the world and allow investors and users to do business or banking transactions with their partners from all over the world.

Among the investors that will participate in the development of the oil and gas and logistic park are:

The park is expected to attract more local and foreign investors due to its strategic location in the east coast as it faces the South China Sea and near the Pahang River. Its location, in the midst of growth areas of upstream and downstream oil and gas exploration and production activities, makes it a strategic place for the oil and gas and marine industry. The park’s ideal location contributes to strengthen the viability of the development and spearhead more economic benefits for the region.
 
The industrial park project is undertaken by Tanjung Agas Supply Base and Marine Services Sdn Bhd (TASBMS) of which The Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP) has a 30% stake in TASBMS.
