KUALA LIPIS: A 245-hectare area near Bandar Baru across the Lipis river has been proposed for the Lipis second new city development.
Pahang Human Resources and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Fong Koong Fuee said, among development projects to be implemented in the area were housing project, business premises, light industrial area, sports complex, public and recreational park.
"As the area is near Felda Gugusan Kecau, it will boost the economy of residents nearby when it develops," he told reporters here.
Fong, who is also state assemblyman for Cheka, said the development project was listed in the 11th Malaysia Plan. - Bernama
