3 August, 2011- Polyplastic Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd., a Japanese owned company operating in the Gebeng Industrial Estate, Kuantan, Pahang will expand its operation with the additional investment of RM600 million by early next year. Polyplastic which set up its operation in early 2000 was investing to increase its production by three-folds.
Speaking to reporters after a courtesy call to Chief Minister of Pahang, Yasutoshi Segizawa, Executivfe Director of Polyplastic Co. Ltd Japan said although the new plant would be smaller it would be using cutting edge technology allowing production to increase to 90,000 tonnes yearly from 33,000 tonnes. He also said both plants located on 30 hectares of land is producing engineering plastic resin which 60% of it was used in various applications, including the manufacturing of automotive products such as car dashboard for markets in China and India.
With this additional investment, Polyplastic will provide an extra 80 workers to the present 250 staff and the construction is expected to commence 2012 with completion secheduled in 2013. The company is expecting to start its fully operation by 2014.
