The hot and humid climate in Malaysia ranges from 22°C (night) to 33°C (daytime). The Pahang highlands, however, have a distinctly different climate from the rest of the country. Temperatures average at a very pleasant 22°C during the day and a cool 15°C at night.
Cameron Highlands
Cameron Highlands, Malaysia’s premier hill resort, is the largest of all Malaysian hill resorts with a temperature ranging from 16°C to 24°C. Much of its appeal lies in the sprawling tea plantations that date back to 1929. You can experience tea processing from tea plucking until the tea has been graded and processed. Among the must-visit tea plantations are the Boh Tea Plantation, the Sungai Palas Tea Plantation and the Cameron Valley Tea Plantation.
Cameron Highlands is also the country’s leading producer of vegetables and fresh flowers. In addition, it is also famous for its strawberry farms, butterfly farms, honey bee farms and the perfect place for jungle tracking and bird watching.
Genting Highlands
Genting Highlands, the entertainment city in the cloud, is perched 2,000 metres above sea level along the Pahang-Selangor border. Offering fun and entertaining activities, at the peak is the Genting Theme Park and Casino. For a thrilling experience, ride to the peak via the Genting Skyway which is the world’s fastest and South East Asia’s longest cable car. Other attractions include the award winning 18-hole golf course the Awana Golf and Country Club, the Awana Horse Ranch that offers horse riding lessons and joy rides and an eco-park that offers a range of eco-sports for nature buffs.
Fraser’s Hill
Fraser’s Hill is considered the most beautiful hill of all hill resorts in Malaysia. Nestling at 1,524 metres above the sea level on the majestic Titiwangsa Range, you can experience a country style holiday in a cool, refreshing ambience at granite mock-Tudor cottages amidst the brilliantly-coloured blooms of English-style gardens. Fraser’s Hill has long been a top bird watching destination for local and international birdwatchers.
Bukit Tinggi
Bukit Tinggi is just over an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur city and famous for its unique resort of various world cultures. Here, you can find the Colmar Tropicale, the replica of a collection of buildings from the north-eastern village of France dating back to the 16th Century and the Zen inspired Japanese Village which encompasses a Japanese Tea House, Sakura and Ume Tatami Suites and a Botanical Garden. There is also a rabbit park, a deer sanctuary, donkey rides, archery and painting sessions to keep the children busy and happy.
